The Strabane BID Company welcomed today’s announcement of further Rates Support which will see the hardest hit by the pandemic pay no rates for the full financial year up to 31 March 2021.  The Strabane BID Company had written to the Minister for Finance calling for action to support the business community of Strabane Town. Welcoming the scheme which will apply to hospitality, tourism and leisure; retail; and childcare, Chair of the Strabane BID Company, Kieran Kennedy commented: “The extension of rates support for the rest of the financial year will go a long way in supporting businesses who have been severely impacted by the restrictions put in place by government. It is my hope that as restrictions ease, we see as my of our businesses reopen their doors as possible. The Micro and Small Businesses in the hardest hit sectors are the lifeblood of the Strabane economy and should be supported to get back on their feet. I welcome this support and look forward to working with each and every Strabane business as we move from lockdown to recovery”. For further information on the range of grants and supports available to Strabane BID Members and businesses visit: www.instrabane.org
